Sunday Times Christmas Appeal and the RSM
Each year the Sunday Times has a Christmas Appeal - and this launched on Sunday 22 November. The appeal this year is for the Children of Iraq as there are more than 8,000 children in the country who have been permanently disabled by the conflict.Leading the work with these children is the charity Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF).Funds from this year's campaign will primarily go towards the work that MSF are doing to help the children.
In addition 10% of the monies raised will come to the Royal Society of Medicine to support doctors - our role being to provide online journals and other e resources for doctors and medical professionals in both Iraq and Jordan.

RSM Website downtime
Lately we have been experiencing problems with our servers, which has resulted in the RSM websites being offline for unspecified periods of time.
We are currently halfway through a migration to a new hosting system, which we hope to start rolling out over the next few weeks. This should mean that we won't have any further problems with website downtime, but until that happens there is a chance that the websites could go down again.
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause and wish to assure you that we are working as fast as we can in getting the new system online to provide improved reliability and access.
